Welcome to Cara Wolff Jewelry.Cara is a Vermont-based metalsmith and jewelry designer who comes from a family of artists. Cara’s jewelry speaks of simple elegance and the natural beauty of metal and stone. She hand-forms her jewelry using high quality metals and gemstones that are carefully crafted into beautiful, original, works of art. Many of her materials are recycled from retired pieces of jewelry and all of her designs are original. Many of her pieces are one-of-a-kind.
Cara has been fascinated with jewelry and stones since she was a young girl, when she was inspired by trips to the gemstone exhibit at the Museum of Natural History and visits to see her Aunt Sylvia who worked at Tiffany's in New York City. She has been making jewelry for over 20 years and has received training in the metal arts at Humboldt State University, the Maine College of Art, and the Denver School of Metal Arts.
Cara's former career as a wildlife biologist and her life-long love of the natural world strongly influence her jewelry. The colorful stones she uses reflect the brilliance of the environment around her: chrysoprase and apatite represent the sea and sky, labradorite and moonstone evoke mountainous landscapes, and carnelian brings a reminder of the warmth of the sun. Cara's design style is continually evolving and changing, guided by the day to day beauty she sees in the natural world. She strives to create jewelry with a timeless quality that maintains a fresh, contemporary feel.
She is inspired every day by the enduring spirit of her sister, Melinda, and her wonderfully talented mother, Audrey.
